US Fleet Tracking Hosts “Blood Donor Challenge”

OKLAHOMA CITY (March 25, 2016) – Springtime in Oklahoma consistently presents weather uncertainties. As the need for blood donations can be especially high for Midwest states this time of year, US Fleet Tracking and the Oklahoma Blood Institute offer an easy and quick way to be ready when demand for blood is highest.

US Fleet Tracking and OBI are teaming up to present a “Blood Donor Challenge” at US Fleet Tracking’s corporate offices Monday, March 28, benefiting Oklahoma, Arkansas and Texas, with company employees and surrounding businesses invited to participate.

This initiative expands an already-existing partnership between the two entities, as OBI uses US Fleet Tracking GPS trackers and software for their mobile transport vehicles.

“Springtime can be increasingly challenging in increasing our reserves, so this joint effort with US Fleet Tracking is both very important and timely,” comments Kim Van Antwerpen, vice president technical operations, Oklahoma Blood Institute.

“US Fleet Tracking’s GPS trackers in all our courier vehicles assure we can supply this life-saving gift in the most efficient manner, while these mobile blood drive efforts make it possible for the Oklahoma Blood Institute to provide uninterrupted great customer service to all our hospitals and their patients,” adds Van Antwerpen.

US Fleet Tracking Founder and CEO, Jerry Hunter, spotlights the importance of the company’s relationship with the Oklahoma Blood Institute.

“Knowing that our trackers aid in getting blood efficiently where it needs to go is why we do this. Our teamwork in this blood drive helps ensure this region of the country will have adequate resources during the spring season, when they may need it most,” said Hunter.

Every two seconds, someone needs blood, yet less than ten percent of those eligible to give blood do so. Oklahoma Blood Institute donors know they are, literally, saving the lives of their friends, family and co-workers, plus others who may have no idea they will encounter an urgent situation where blood is needed. Additionally, one blood donation can save up to three peoples’ lives.

All who give blood in the March 28 “Blood Donor challenge” at US Fleet Tracking are entered into a raffle, with the winner claiming two tickets in US Fleet Tracking’s corporate suite for the March 31 OKC Thunder-Los Angeles Clippers game. The blood drive begins Monday, March 28 at 1:30 p.m. extending to 4:30 p.m. Time slots may be scheduled by going online to http://www.yourbloodinstitute.org or http://www.signupgenius.com/go/20f0f4faaad2aa46-blood
