Why 2G GPS Tracking Network End By The End Of 2016
OKLAHOMA CITY (Oct. 2016) — The reality is that technological advances have been happening quite rapidly over the years. People used to be amazed by their children making mud pies in the backyard for fun, but now they see them connecting wirelessly via the internet for entertainment. Likewise, business owners who used to rely on manual forms of operation have succumbed to the efficient ways of GPS tracking. These devices, too, have changed over the years, but in the last 10 years users of the 2G network have been quite fortunate to have received service from the same GPS tracking devices. USFT has mentioned the upgraded technology of the 3G network before, but this time it’s worth mentioning it, because the 2G network will soon be disappearing for good.
In previous articles, USFT has let on about upgrading to the 3G network to ensure faster speeds and better connectivity for GPS tracking devices. Now more than ever, it is important to note that the 2G network will no longer exist by December 31, 2016. The staff, at USFT, want to stress to GPS tracking customers that the decision to do away with the 2G network was made by the carrier company, AT&T. This decision to shut down all 2G networks was made in an effort to free up valuable spectrum and provide increased speed and capacity using more adequate cellular technologies.
USFT is committed to providing technical support in this time of transition. The serial numbers of all customer devices are gathered and by entering in the information the system can tell which specific devices are 2G and should be upgraded before the AT&T 2G shutdown date. If customers are utilizing USFT's devices and they aren’t certain as to whether their device are 2G or 3G, then they may enter the serial number by clicking here.
