To help you manage your fleet better, Our GPS Tracking System gives you numerous options to customize your map to your liking.  In the live tracking web-based system, you have four views to choose from: Map View, Hybrid, Birdseye and Satellite view; clicking on these buttons will switch the map to one of the four views available.
•    Map View – A fast loading, map only view.
•    Hybrid – Aerial photography with road and location names labeled.
•    Birdseye – High-resolution aerial photography view with no labels.
•    Satellite – Satellite images with no labels.

In each of these views, you may move the map and toggle the display of helpful information.

Zoom and Move the Map

The zoom control is a narrow bar with a plus and minus symbol on the top and bottom.  Click the plus and minus buttons to zoom the map in or out.  Just to the left of the zoom control is the movement control; this control is a box with eight arrows, pointing in every direction.  Click any of the arrows to scroll the map in that direction.  You can also click and drag the map to move it.

Additional Map Control Options

Immediately below the view type buttons, you will see six check boxes: Center, Optimize, Traffic, Fences, Radar and Clouds.
When the Center box is checked, the view will automatically center on your selected assets.  Uncheck this box before moving the map manually.
The Optimize box will freeze the map at the currently selected zoom level.  Uncheck this box to zoom the map in or out manually.
The Traffic check box will activate the traffic indication on nearby interstates.  Traffic is indicated by a line highlighting nearby interstates.  Green means traffic is clear, yellow means traffic is heavy, red means traffic is extremely congested and black means that the road is closed.
The Fences check box toggles the display of any Zone Alerts that you have defined.
Click the Radar check box to display live Doppler weather radar on your map.  This allows you to see where rain, hail, sleet or snow is falling.  A radar legend will appear in the upper right-hand corner of the map; click the loop option in this legend to loop the radar animation.
The Clouds check box will overlay your review with live cloud cover.  The legend will appear in the lower right-hand corner; click the loop option in this legend to loop the clouds animation.

Show Routes Button

The Show Routes button is located just below these check boxes.  If you have any Routes defined, this button will bring up a list of them.  Check the box next to a route, and it will appear on your map.  Uncheck the box to deactivate the route.  Click the Hide Routes button to return to the standard Map Control view.

Refresh Map Button

Click the refresh button to redraw the map with the current position of selected assets indicated.  If you are in Historical Playback mode, this will return you to the live view.

Monitoring a GPS Tracker with our Alerts System

GPS Tracker Alerts System –

The US Fleet Tracking system lets you monitor your fleet in real time through a web-based interface.  This is handy when you are able to sit down in front of a computer or give your full attention to your smartphone.  By using our GPS Tracker Alert System, you can also choose to monitor your fleet with customizable alerts that come directly to your mobile phone or email inbox.  To get started, open the GPS Tracker Alert System tab on your Control Panel, then click the Show Alert Editor button to open the Text Alert Editor window.

Zone Alerts

Zone Alerts notify you when the vehicles you choose enter or exit an area that you have defined, such as your fleet yard or your service area.  To set up a zone alert, click the Add Zone Alert button.  Give your zone a name; then enter a phone number or email address to be notified when a vehicle enters or exits this zone.  You should see a red box representing the zone on your map; click and drag the pins at the upper-left and lower-right hand corners to adjust the zone’s size and position.  When you are finished, click the Save Alert Zone button.

Speed Alerts

Speed alerts let you know any time one of your vehicles exceeds the speed limit that you have set.  To set up a  GPS Tracker speed alert, click the Add Speed Alert button.  Enter the phone number and/or, email address to be notified, and choose the vehicles the limit will apply to.  Click the Save Speed Alert button to exit.

Panic Alerts

When one of your drivers is in an emergency situation, Panic Alerts give them a quick, discrete way to call for help.  Click the Add  GPS Tracker Panic Alert button to set up panic alerts.  When panic alerts are enabled, the live tracking map system will continually display the state of the panic alert switches.  Click the Emergency Alerts button to turn this display on or off.

Ignition Alerts

On your hardwired devices, anyone you choose can be alerted when the ignition is turned on or off.  If your drivers are assigned to specific vehicles, you may choose to alert them when their vehicle is started, for instance.  This notification is set for 24 hours a day by default, but you can change this setting to whatever time you like.  GPS Tracker Alerts can be sent for the ignition switching on, switching off or both.

Route Alerts

If your vehicles are assigned to specific routes, you can choose to be notified when the vehicles leave their assigned routes.  Before this feature can be activated, you must have defined at least one route using the Advanced Route Planner feature found in the Dispatch and Directions tab of the  GPS Tracker Control Panel.
To set up the route alert, click the Add Route Alert button.  Choose the desired route and the vehicles the new alert will apply to; you may also set the time parameters for this notification.  The default maximum distance a vehicle can deviate from its assigned route is 300 feet, but you can set this distance for anything from 100 feet to 1 mile.  Finally, just as before, set a phone number or email address for the letter to be sent to.

Click the Devices tab to open the Devices screen; this screen has two drop-down menus and three buttons.

Single Vehicle Drop-Down Menu

Click the Single Vehicle menu to see a list of all your vehicles in the Live Tracking map system.  Select an individual vehicle or asset from the list to view it.  You can view the Historical Playback for a particular vehicle.  Select View All Vehicles or click Refresh Map to exit the single vehicle view.

Group Drop-Down Menu

If you operate a large fleet or have multiple vehicle types of coverage areas, you can make managing them easier by putting your vehicles into groups.  Choose a group from the drop-down menu to view the vehicles in that group.  Click View All Vehicles or the Refresh Map button to return to the standard view.

Group Editor Button

To create a group of vehicles, click the Group Editor button.  Name your group, and then choose vehicles from the Add All Vehicles drop-down menu to add to your group; click the vehicle name, then click the Add button.  Continue this process until you have added all the vehicles for that group.  To delete a vehicle, click on it, then click the Remove button.  Click the Clear button to remove all vehicles from a group.  When you are finished, click the Save Vehicle Group button.  To remove the group, click the group name in the Group box, then click the remove button.

Driver Editor Button

Each of your vehicles can have one or more drivers assigned to it.  Click the Driver Editor button to add the names and phone numbers of the drivers.  To add a driver, click on the Add Driver button to enter the driver’s name, then use the drop-down menu to select the vehicles you would like to associate with this driver.  Add up to two phone numbers in the Phone Nums. field, and select the cell phone carrier if applicable.  This allows you to make a Skype call to the driver directly from the last tracking map system simply by clicking on the vehicle and selecting Phone Driver from Vehicle Options.  You must have Skype installed on your computer and have credit available to place a call.

Device Maintenance Button

For vehicles using hard-wired tracking devices, you can set alerts for vehicle maintenance tasks based on a vehicle’s mileage or hours of use.  Click this button to open the Device Maintenance window; you can set up a separate password to protect your maintenance records.
If this is your first visit to the Device Maintenance area, you will not have any maintenance alerts set up.  To set up an alert, first click the desired vehicle; you will need to enter some baseline data first.  Initial Miles and Initial Hours should contain these values from the time you put the vehicle in the service.  Current Miles and Current Hours should contain the current values for these numbers.  Once you have the baseline data entered, click the Add button at the bottom of the window to set up a Maintenance Alert.  Enter the maintenance interval and the last time that this maintenance was performed.  The system can now alert you by text message or email when your vehicle needs scheduled maintenance.
