GPS tracker: Delivering more
Nearly all major food products are delivered either frozen or refrigerated to restaurants. Some foods are picked out fresh and delivered daily. This makes restaurant food delivery fleets very important. At the foundation of food delivery vehicles is the capability to provide a timely service. Restaurant delivery fleets have quite a few tasks at hand to ensure that the food and beverage industry has fresh goods on hand. Whether you have just a few fleet vehicles or you are a large delivery company, the benefits of GPS tracker devices are hard to ignore. Today, we’re going to talk a little bit about one of the best benefits you get out of using this technology.
Delivering More Than Goods
You’re not just aiming to deliver fresh foods and beverages to designated restaurants. Those restaurant owners are your customers and you’d probably like to know that your company offered great customer service from the very beginning to the very end.
With GPS tracker units this is a much simpler goal to complete. Every driver will be able to tap into the GPS tracker device and quickly provide accurate times of arrival for deliveries. By using GPS tracker software your drivers would also open the door for opportunities to correspond with more customers in less time. This would be most advantageous through the usage of the Advanced Routing feature.
Being more efficient and communicative with customers is certainly a great place to start building better customer relationships. Being faster with deliveries is also vital to avoid food expiration. You definitely don’t want to be the reason why a restaurant doesn’t have their daily food supply.
If you own food delivery trucks then you already know how important the job can be. Why not make it an easier job with GPS tracker devices? Sometimes, there’s no shame in taking the easy route.

GPS tracking: Out with the old, in with the new
By this time you’ve probably caught a glimpse of the news going around stating that the AT&T 2G network is shutting down. We’re spreading this news not to cause panic, but to allow everyone the chance to keep their GPS tracking connection going strong. According to AT&T either before or by the date of December 31st, 2016 everyone will need to be off of the 2G network or risk not having connection. Upgrading to 3G network prior to that time is the best bet.
Having all new, faster speeds will be a game changer for those utilizing GPS tracking, in a really good way! While goodbyes are always difficult, the way we’re choosing look at this change is positively. Rather than being hung up on 2G network like it’s the greatest thing you’ve ever had, think of it like having to give up the good stuff to get the great stuff. It may sound obvious to many fleet companies, but these changes induced by AT&T are all for the sake of creating a bigger, better, and more efficient system!
We understand there may be some of you out there that are not certain whether your company will be affected by this 2G shutdown. By clicking right here, we have made it possible for you to enter your device’s serial number into our “check” bar. By entering this information our system will be able to automatically scan the results and generate data to tell you if your GPS tracking device is 3G or older.
Saying “out with the old, in with the new” doesn’t have to be scary. If you need help at any time during this transition don’t hesitate to contact our US Fleet Tracking technical support team!

GPS tracker: Important information via text
Can any business oriented person really go anywhere these days without their cell phone? Truthfully, it’d be pretty difficult to operate without that connection. While we don’t condone fleet drivers looking down at their phone while making their way down the road, the mobile-friendly GPS tracker updates are a superb way for managers to keep tabs on things happening in the field. It’s no surprise that fleet managers will need to check their cell phones. Now, thanks to the convenience of GPS tracker updates being mobile-friendly they have a good reason to be looking at their phone.
Receiving important information via text has never been so simple. Alerts, for example are one of the best automation features for fleets. The GPS tracker alert system empowers you to create a limitless number of alerts all with the ability to be sent as a text message and/or an email anytime the programmed event takes place. Think about how easy obtaining reminders of scheduled vehicle maintenance could be!
Want more than just alerts sent to your phone? Your wish is granted! With GPS tracker software data collected can be generated into reports, some of which can be viewed on your cell phone. The most helpful reports might include information about driver analytics including speed, idling, aggressive driving, and mileage. Having all this sent directly to managers encourages them to sustain an efficient business with fewer vehicle breakdowns, accidents, and high-dollar repair bills.
Signing in to the cell phone application is easy to do and you can check the “Remember me” button to ensure that you don’t have to remember your password the next time you want to log in. Start receiving your important GPS tracker information on your cell phone to add some more ease to your day!

GPS tracker: Advanced options
Does traffic or construction have you slowing down so much that you’re worried about making it to your destination on time? When you’re on company time every second matters, not only for customer service purposes, but also for your bottom line. The good news is that there is something you can do about it! GPS tracker route planning is a fabulous way to become an efficient fleet by incorporating a simple way for your team to work together seamlessly.
Dispatchers can help drivers out by noticing potential time delays from traffic, construction, and weather. Then, dispatchers can change the planned routes quickly to avoid having drivers pull over to do it. The editing process is so simple to use that old routes can be deleted in seconds. There are times, of course, when the map can still leave drivers questioning if the path is correct. Let’s face it, sometimes old country roads just aren’t easy to navigate and in some places road signs just don’t exist!
When things are questionable the two-way communication feature comes in handy for dispatchers to speak directly to the driver. Additionally, the GPS tracker advanced routing options will allow fleet managers to assign tasks better. GPS tracker units with advanced route options allow you to set up pre-determined routes by placing them directly on the map complete with alerts. Geofence alerts can send notifications when vehicles stray from their designated routes. This is for safety as much as it is for accountability.
Ensuring drivers are being efficient while conducting daily duties is just part of a fleet manager’s job. With that being said, GPS tracker software makes that job a lot easier. The advanced options take the “easy” factor to the next level! Are you ready to get the best in GPS tracker route planning?

GPS trackers: Ditch the personal navigational system
Think your personal navigation system can do everything that GPS trackers can do? That’s cute, but it’s wrong. If you’re still using a personal navigation system for your fleets, there’s a lot you’re missing out on. The pretty facade and a silly voice is all you get. You may ask “well what’s wrong about that?” The answer is that tracking units, like ours, have features that don’t make you work harder than necessary to stay up-to-date with first-rate mapping. Here are a few ways that GPS trackers are superior.
1.) Automatic Updates: Personal navigation systems don’t have maps that automatically update to show current traffic conditions, road hazards or other structural changes. Guess what? GPS trackers do! These devices aren’t just equipped with pre-set maps, they’re automatically kept up to date.
2.) Automatic Data: 1, 5, or 10 second updates are offered to you when you use GPS trackers. Not only will drivers know current traffic and weather conditions, but management will know the exact location of every driver thanks to live integration.
3.) Automatic Searches: Does your personal navigation system allow you to quickly search your area for gas stations? GPS trackers allow the driver to find anything in the area on the map. The best part is that it also displays whether the location is open or closed.
With trackers you don’t get just one streamline route! You get a live map with many options to help your fleet drivers be more efficient. There really is no chance of getting lost either with the most up to date maps being delivered instantly. Personal navigation devices may be a cheaper option, but clearly they certainly aren’t superior. Are you ready to ditch the personal navigation system?

GPS trackers: Allowing drivers to work efficiently
If your fleet vehicles aren’t equipped with GPS trackers then it’s possible that your customers are suffering from longer than average wait times for services to be completed. If your technicians are already in the field and another customer call comes in, how do you know which driver is the closest? Which person does it make the most sense for you to send? Does that particular driver even have the inventory in his vehicle to properly help the customer? With GPS trackers none of these questions would have to be asked.
Delaying repair jobs due to the unknown would be a thing of the past with GPS trackers. These handy devices offer you a resourceful approach to your daily work. If management needs to know where drivers are located in order to quickly dispatch the closest employee to a customer’s job site that’s not a problem thanks to live maps. Management and dispatchers can both see if a vehicle is parked at a customer’s address or if a vehicle is en route.
GPS trackers can do much more than help you keep an eye on your fleets in the field. In fact, data storage can be done within the system to help keep track of tools and other equipment in each vehicle. This way, if parts are needed to repair something for a customer, you don’t have to second guess as to whether a driver has the necessary inventory. Furthermore, a driver doesn’t have to make multiple trips to a customer’s location just to go pick up parts they didn’t have on hand.
The objective, for most fleet industries, is to be equipped with an operating system that will allow them to take charge and have drivers be able to work in a more efficient way. Luckily, GPS trackers can offer valuable features to aid businesses in achieving this goal. Will you be the next company to reap the benefits?

GPS tracker: Positive benefits
Over the years, GPS tracker devices have been used for multiple reasons and by various types of businesses. There are many different GPS systems, but one constant remains and that is the ability to help the user improve their situation. In terrifying circumstances, it’s nice when news stations feature stories showing how a GPS tracker device provided a positive outcome. Today, we’re reviewing a time when a GPS tracker saved a life.
In Pennsylvania, luck seemed to be on one woman’s side on November 6th, 2014. Carlesha Freeland-Gaither was kidnapped right off of a street in Philadelphia where she was dragged into a nearby vehicle. That vehicle was purchased from a used car dealership that just so happens to equip their vehicles with GPS tracker devices. This seemed to have been unknown to the kidnapper. Using the GPS system to their advantage, police were able to track the kidnapper, arrest him and save the woman.
It’s amazing to see how GPS tracker devices are being used in so many places these days! Police forces around the globe are beginning to understand the benefit of GPS tracker devices, especially when they are able to help save lives. One thing can be said about cases such as this unique situation and that is that the GPS tracker device had positive benefits.
While saving lives may not be on most fleet managers’ minds, tracking their company vehicles should be. GPS trackers are making life much more efficient in many realms. Are you ready to join the ranks of those already discovering the power of the GPS tracker?

GPS tracking: Understanding what you’re looking at
One of the most common symbols known to drivers is the traffic light which brings recognition of red, yellow and green. When a traffic light isn’t functioning properly it’s common to see a black cover over the light. As these 4 colors are already ingrained in your mind and have meanings for all drivers, it made sense to utilize these colors in the GPS tracking system. Today, we’re going to explain how using these 4 colors you can quickly look at your GPS tracking map and help your fleets to avoid traffic.
Traffic conditions are a bother when your fleet drivers are trying to get to their customer destinations in a timely manner. Looking at the GPS tracking live map, dispatchers, management and drivers can all see the current traffic conditions. Using the well-known traffic light colors helps to understand how to look at the map and see what you need to see in a glance.
Green means go and that is precisely why if you see a green line, representing a street, on your map you know traffic is clear. Yellow means caution, so if you see a yellow line on your map it means that area has slight congestion. Furthermore, red means stop, therefore; when you see a red line it means that area will have you stopped as it is very congested. Finally, just as we mentioned before, black means out-of-order. Like the black covered stop light that isn’t functioning, a black line on your map represents an area that is closed down.
The nice part about the live GPS tracking map is that it allows the user to zoom in on an area and see exactly which lane is experiencing trouble. One side of the highway may be green, or clear to drive on and the other may be red, or congested. Anyone from your fleet can obtain a lot of information just by using color recognition! It’s fast, easy and one more way your fleet business can be more efficient.

GPS trackers: Aiding county officials
Hildago County officials of Rio Grande, Texas were striving to provide more accountability, to be more effective and to be safer while carrying out their daily operations. With these goals in mind the county officials discussed their options. It didn’t take long before the solution to their quarries was the implementation of GPS trackers. Local news reporters were all buzzing with the story about how the county-owned vehicles were assigned to five departments. Initially, GPS systems were installed in 70 vehicles belonging to several county offices. Of course, taxpayers were wondering how GPS trackers were going to help. The truth is, the benefits of GPS trackers are universal.
It’s no secret that there have been times when county trucks have been stolen or used inappropriately by employees. When thefts occur it costs the county even more money to replace the stolen vehicles. When employees take the county vehicles after hours for personal use that is another cost for the county that has to go towards fuel and unnecessary vehicle maintenance due to the extra mileage being driven. With GPS trackers, county officials can actually see a return on the investment and spend less of the taxpayers money.
The historical data stored by GPS trackers will allow management to keep a record of miles traveled, hours vehicles are in use, fuel usage and more. Text alerts and analytical reports can be generated from the GPS trackers so there will be no hiding what is really going on. With pinpointed details about the location of county vehicles, safety is a goal that is easier to achieve. County officials have agreed that the GPS trackers in their vehicles will help county departments be more effective and efficient.

GPS Tracking: Protecting the goods
Use of technology always helps a lot in the growth of any business. If you’re a business with lots of goods, you want to make certain you know what is in your inventory and where it goes. Security of costly products or inventories is necessary in keeping the business running. GPS tracking is a great solution to gaining control of your inventory. By being able to keep track of your goods inside the warehouse, during transportation and during delivery this ensures satisfactory security. We will explain a little more about how GPS tracking can help with each of these areas of concern.
Inside the warehouse: In order to stay organized and efficient you need to know where your inventory is located. GPS tracking makes it easier to have an active list of goods placed in the warehouse and even helps to locate the items if they have been moved after being delivered.
During transportation: GPS tracking allows you to know when your inventory has left the warehouse. By setting up geofences you can receive alerts when products move out of the warehouse or the defined perimeter of your choosing.
During delivery: When your products leave the warehouse, you want to make certain they arrive at their destination safely. With GPS tracking on your goods, you could maintain real-time knowledge of where your inventory is located.
Investing in better inventory tracking systems might be a good idea to help reduce theft. GPS tracking also allows reports to be generated which can help management see if there are any areas of business that may need improvement. If you’re a business that manages a lot of inventory then you should consider investing in GPS tracking technology for monitoring your inventory with greater accuracy.
